This past weekend Jack married Erin Breslin in Santa Barbara.
Erin is smart, sassy, strong, funny, and beautiful. She and Jack are nearly inseparable, and when they are together, they talk and laugh nonstop like two school kids. As Donna noted in her beautiful, heartfelt remarks at the rehearsal dinner, it's hard to know what they have left to talk about after carrying on this continual conversation for more than three years. It is obvious to anyone who sees them that they are head over heels in love.
Donna and I had met Erin's parents last December in Philadelphia. We immediately became friends and found that we shared a lot of common values -- particularly the importance of family.
It was great to see them again in Santa Barbara and to meet their son Gerard and many of their siblings and in-laws.
It also was great to meet some of Jack's fellow YouTubers. There's a culture of camaraderie in the industry, and many of them were eager to help Jack when he was getting started -- Joe Nation, Jess Lizama, Sean Klitzner, Olga Kay, the Fine Brothers, and many others.
And it was a fine opportunity for us to have some fun time with our family. After all, what's the point if you don't celebrate life's good times with your family?
After marrying off our two daughters, which were emotionally wracking events for me, this wedding was less of a strain on my nerves. It was just the opposite for Donna.
Donna's relationship with Jack is special. Just as I may have been more protective of our girls than she, Donna, more than me, has been Jack's champion and advocate.
This isn't to say that Jack and I don't have a very close relationship -- we do. But as proud as I was of Jack for finding a wonderful girl who is a perfect match for him, of taking that leap into lifelong commitment with her, and overcoming all the obstacles that lay in his path to achieve the success he has earned, Donna's pride is greater, for she invested more into his development.
That special bond between Jack and Donna was on full display, as was the beautiful bond between Jack and Erin.

I am so happy for both of them. Our fandom couldn't really wait to know when they were actually getting married because jack started hinting in 2015 only.

I am just so happy for both of them, that I'm crying since I saw John's first picture, of him in a tuxedo, on twitter.
